In 2007, Rick expanded his horizons to the private sector, where his expertise has since benefited countless individuals. From Basic Firearm Fundamentals to Defensive Handgunning Tactics and Advanced Handgunning, Rick's curriculum is comprehensive, spanning more than 50 training topics designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of defensive handgunners. His approach not only fosters a winning mindset but also cultivates comfort, confidence, and skill sets essential for defensive handgunning.

- US Army Marksman
- Law Enforcement Rangemaster and Chemical Agents Instructor
- Rangemaster/Firearms Instructor with Peace Officer Standards and Training accreditation
- California Department of Justice Firearm Safety Certificate Program Instructor and certified Concealed Carry Weapons Instructor
- Completion of both Basic and Advanced Sniper Academies
- Participation and recognition in Sniper Week West and the California SWAT Championship
- Certified Specialty Impact Munitions, Critical Response, Light and Sound Diversionary Devices, and Emergency Response Instructor
